2019 Capex / Production Comparison YOY: Bakken Shale

As E&Ps begin to release 2019 operating plans, Shale Experts is taking a look at how the spending and production is changing YOY.

We looked at major operators in the Bakken Shale below.

*Several companies have given ranges in capex / production guidance - the numbers in the charts below represent the midpoint

Bakken Shale

For the Bakken, we looked at Hess and Enerplus.

For 2019, the region will be seeing an increase in spending as well as production from both companies - an average +44% uptick in capex paired with a +17% increase in production output (Hess expecting a 17% increase and Enerplus with 12%).

Hess lifts the capex percentages the most with a noticeable +58% jump in Bakken spending from 2018. Meanwhile Enerplus is only spending +14% more in 2019 at $480MM.
