Another Large Eagle Ford Operator Exploring Sale

Bloomberg is reporting that Equinor, previously known as Statoil, is exploring the sale of its Eagle Ford division, according to people familiar with the matter according to the publication.
Equinor has an ownership interest in the Eagle Ford shale formation located in south Texas through a joint venture with Repsol. Through transactions in 2013 and 2015, Equinor obtained full operatorship in the joint venture and increased its working interest to 63%.
Equinor's net acreage position in Eagle Ford at the end of 2018 was around 71,000 net acres and production of 43,000 boe/d.
The company is open to selling parts of the acreage instead of the entire package. This follows our earlier story where 4 other E&Ps have indicated they would be willing to part with their Eagle Ford property as well…
