Baytex Restarts Canada Production; Maintains Three Eagle Ford Rigs

Baytex Energy Corp. reports its operating and financial results for the three and six months ended June 30, 2016 (all amounts are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise noted) and a board appointment.

Key Points: In Q2/2016, we entered into an agreement to dispose of our operated assets in the Eagle Ford for approximately $55 million. By the end of June, approximately 6,500 boe/d of the 7,500 boe/d previously shut-in had been re-started. We expect to resume production from the remaining 1,000 boe/d in the second half of 2016. We currently have three drilling rigs operating on our lands, as compared to six drilling rigs in Q1/2016.
