Eagle Ford Shale :  A 2014 Outlook

Shale Experts has collected detailed capital budgets on more than 35 of the top 42 E&P companies in the Eagle Ford Shale (both public and private). 

Even with new budgets set, rig count is down 2 from last week and 8 from the prior year (as of January 17, 2014). Shale Experts expects a flat rig count for 2014.

To date, the Eagle Ford has seen more than $24 billion in committed capital for drilling & completions.

Highlights include: KKR will carry 75% of Exco Resources drilling budget in 2014 to the tune of $500 million for 90 gross wells. Marathon Oil is up $400 million from 2013 to $2.3 billion in 2014. Chesapeake spent $2.2 of its $6.4 billion on the play in 2013. Even though management has not officially announced a 2014 budget, we don't expect any significant uptick in Eagle Ford…
