Exxon Restricts Output at Stabroek Asset Offshore Guyana; 100,000 BPD Cap
ExxonMobil is restricting oil output at its Stabroek asset offshore Guyana, according to a report by Reuters.
Currently, output is being capped at 100,000 BPD. The company cited problems with natural gas compression / injection as the cause for the restriction.
Exxon's jointly-developed Stabroek asset has turned out several discoveries since its inception. The company and its partners marked the 16th discovery at the block in January 2020.
This brought its total resource potential to over 8.0 billion BOE.
Exxon affiliate Esso E&P serves as operator and holds 45% interest in the Stabroek Block. Other E&Ps with a stake in Stabroek include Hess Corp. (30%) and CNOOC Ltd. (25% interest).
