BHP Billiton has released its end of year 2017 update (**note that BHP's calendar year ran from June 2016-2017).


Activity Ended (June 2016 - June 2017)

BHP changed up its rig allocation in June 2017, pulling one each from the Eagle Ford and Permian, while deploying three across the Haynesville (up from zero rigs in BHP's previous year).

The rig decrease in the Eagle Ford is likely related to its planned divestment of its Hawkville asset, which BHP estimates will be finalized by September.

This increases BHP's rig count to five total operated rigs (up by one YOY).
