Repsol IDs Growth Areas for 2016 Post-Talisman Deal

At the 2015 EnerCom conference, Repsol SA's Phil Ryback highlighted its recent $13B acquisition of Talisman Energy and further detailed how the combination will fuel Repsol's E&P sector in coming years.

In sealing the Talisman deal, Repsol nearly doubled production from 386 to 660 MBOE/d. More importantly, the company greatly expanded its asset base, particularly in North America where it has honed in on the Eagle Ford, Marcellus and Duvernay shale plays as well as the MidContinent for future growth.

While the company plans to release its 2016 strategic plan in October, Ryback noted that a vast majority of capital will be fueling upstream operations and growth (~77% of total spending according to the company website).
