SM Energy Touts Tighter Eagle Ford Spacing Results

In SM Energy's July 28th Investor Presentation, the company detailed its latest developments in the Eagle Ford and Bakken plays, including updating its downspacing pilot and completion strategy.

Eagle Ford

SM updated its pilot test progress in the Eagle Ford, where it hopes to double its inventory by optimizing well spacing and landing zones.

The company is currently testing 450-foot spacing in its East Area, which is outlined below.

SM has outlined the results of its pilot test and noted that production results from wells with 450' spacing are "in-line" with results from wells with 625' spacing.

Bakken/Three Forks

At its Divide County Bakken project, SM Energy has compared its Bakken well results vs. results from the Three Forks. The company has IDed the Bakken as the better performer.
