Several Operators, PE Firm Set Sights on QEP Resources Takeover

Multiple companies, including two E&Ps and a private equity firm, are reportedly in the running for a takeover of QEP Resources, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Whiting Petroleum and Callon Petroleum are the two operators who have thrown their hats into the ring. Additionally, PE firm Blackstone Group is also in the mix. According to the report, a deal could be reached as early as June 2019.
As we reported earlier this year, QEP's activity for 2019 is significantly reduced when compared to prior years due to the company exploring sale possibilities.
None of the companies replied to requests for comment.
