Shell Cutting Interest in Australia's Woodside for $5.0 Billion
Royal Dutch Shell has reported that it will drop its holdings in Australia's Woodside Petroleum Ltd. The deal consists of a sell-down to investors as well as Woodside buyback.
This move directly aligns with Shell CEO Ben van Beurden's plan to let go of approximately $15 billion in assets by the end of 2015. Earlier this year, the company sold off its Australian downstream business to The Vitol Group.
