Troubled EXCO Resources Files for Bankruptcy

[Summary: EXCO Resources has filed for bankruptcy.

In September 2017, Shale Experts hinted that the company may have been headed for Chapter 11 after EXCO maxed out their credit line. This followed EXCO's failed Eagle Ford divestiture deal with Venado.

During 3Q 2017, the company announced that it had hired advisors to "explore strategic alternatives." The board's executive chairman announced his resignation shortly afterward. At the end of December 2017, EXCO was delisted from the NYSE and its stock commenced trading on the OTC Pink Sheets.
