YPF, Pan American to Ramp Up 2021 Gas Drilling in Vaca Muerta

Argentina-focused YPF is planning to accelerate gas drilling in the country starting in 2021 thanks to a new gas-focused incentive program.

The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic's new gas-focused incentive program (the "Gas Plan") would grant sizable stimulus funds to drillers "in exchange for free access to the exchange market for the repatriation of investments, Income they generate and the maturity of capital and interest on financial indebtedness for investments made as of November 16, 2020."

In its Q3 call, YPF announced that it plans to spend $1.8 billion on gas-focused projects between 2021 and 2024 as a result:
