SM, Noble Betting on Oily Plays into 2016; Realign Spending Plans

At the Wells Fargo 2015 Energy Symposium, SM Energy Co. and Noble Energy Inc. detailed their plans for the remainder of 2015 and into 2016. This included a planned shift in spending directed toward oilier plays.
SM Energy Eagle FordSM touted its reduced costs and efficiency gains in the Eagle Ford. Currently, the company has cut completion costs by 46% per lateral foot YOY.
The company highlighting its recent Eagle Ford pilot program, where it is using "aggressive" well spacing tactics and seeing positive results.

Midland BasinSM noted that it plans to shift some of its focus and expenditures from the Eagle Ford to the Midland Basin Spraberry and Wolfcamp plays in the future.
