Texas American Resources Co. reported that Ben M. Ellis has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer.
About Ellis
Ellis brings nearly 20 years of financial leadership experience in the energy sector, most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Travis Peak Resources, LLC. While at Travis Peak, Ellis led over $250 million in acquisitions and divestitures and was involved in the evaluation of acquisition targets within the Anadarko, Appalachian, Permian and Gulf Coast basins. He also sourced and negotiated two midstream joint ventures with total gross capital commitments in excess of $1 billion.
Ellis also spent nearly five years at BP Corporation North American Inc. (BP), where he led the evaluation of various strategic opportunities, including multi-billion dollar domestic and international corporate partnership transactions, and was involved in closing over $9 billion in acquisition and divestiture transactions. Notably, Ellis was the Project Manager responsible for the establishment and collateralization of the $20 billion Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill Trust.
Prior to BP, Ellis spent five years at Merrill Lynch. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering, graduating Cum Laude, from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business.
