Pressure Pumping Market Update : Third Quarter 2013
Shale Experts has updated its Pressure Pumping and Market Share Reports for October 2013 (3Q13) with a focus on the Eagle Ford.
Rig / Well Count Update - Key Findings
- ~13% of US land rigs in the Eagle Ford (231)
- Rig Count has grown from 60 to over 200 rigs from 2010 through 2012
- Activity has shifted from 34% oil in 1Q2011 to 89% currently
- Rig efficiency has contributed to a flatten count
- Operators continue to increase well count without adding more rigs.

Pressure Pumping
The Eagle Ford has more than 21% US pressure pumping horsepower and 19% of the US frac fleets. Average price per stage in 3Q13 was $91k, down from $159k in 2Q12.
Even though there is pricing pressure related to a 14% oversupply of services, Halliburton maintains a leading position in the Eagle Ford by driving efficiencies in operations, in addition to a 15-20% increase in stage counts per well.
