Continental Resources has curtailed the majority of its production at its North Dakota Bakken asset, according to a report by Reuters.
The company reportedly has ceased drilling activity in the play as well as shut in the majority of its existing wells.
Continental is the largest producer in the play, with 148.4 MBOPD in Bakken oil production at year-end 2019. In early April 2020, the company noted that it was cutting its production expectations by 30% for April and May and suspending its dividend.
Earlier this year, in March, Continental cut its 2020 capital budget by 55% to $1.2 billion.
