OPEC is meeting with shale-focused companies in Houston on Monday to discuss how to handle the oversupply of oil that has dampened oil prices in recent years.
Mohammad Barkindo, OPEC Secretary General, is hosting the dinner along with other unnamed OPEC officials. According to reports, several large and small scale companies have been invited to attend.
This meeting takes place on the opening night of CERAWeek, a yearly energy conference in the Houston area.
No details about which companies are participating has been released.
