Oil prices continued their upward climb late last week and into Monday (12/28) from its lowest totals (seen on 12/22).
WTI hit a high of $48.30 per barrel on December 25th. As of Monday 12/28, prices remained elevated at $48.25 per barrel.
Brent hit a weekly high on Monday 12/28, coming in at $51.41 per barrel.
The sustained elevation in oil prices can likely be attributed to ongoing optimism regarding the COVID-19 vaccines coming to market as well as increased travel during the holiday season.
