Permian DUC Hunting! Operators to Focus on Completing DUCs in 2018
The perfect storm is happening with oil prices continuing to rise.
Here are the trends driving 2018 plans:
1. Oil price rising, now at around $61/bbl WTI. (as of 1/4/2018)
2. Operators are increasing 2018 drilling and completion budgets on average, so far, about 30%
3. With D&C spending increasing, there is more of a demand and frac companies are responding by increasing their horizontal horsepower (HHP) by close to 1.3 million HHP.
Together, these three will lead to a chipping away of the DUC count that grew steadily in 2017.
DUCs are on the rise in the Permian!
