Saudi Basic Industries Looking to Enter U.S. Shale Market

Saudi Basic Industries (SABIC), one of the world’s largest petrochemical companies, is looking to enter the U.S. shale market as early as this year, according to a report by Reuters.

The company’s Chief Executive, Mohamed al-Mady, commented: "We’re currently in talks with a few big names in the U.S. for investment in shale gas. We expect to enter the market sometime this year."

Additionally, al-Mady noted that the company’s investment in U.S. shales would be small in the early stages, but would grow sizably in 2017.
