Trump Pledges to Give Financial Aid to Oil & Gas Industry
US President Donald Trump is moving to give financial aid to the oil and gas industry as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic pummels commodity prices.
Trump made the announcement via his official Twitter account, with the tweet reading as follows:
This comes after WTI prices sunk into the negatives on Monday April 20, hitting around $-33.00 as global demand for oil collapses. Prices have since rebounded slightly.
All requests for comment from the White House, US Treasury and DOE were not immediately returned. We will report updates as they occur.
