U.S. Government's Offshore Drilling Rights Auctions Going Digital

Federal auctions for offshore drilling rights will now be internet-based, according to multiple reports.
The House vote on the bill, known as the Innovation in Offshore Leasing Act, was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 and the proposal passed with 100% support.
Previously, the government sale of offshore drilling rights took place via in-person auctions which required paper bids.
