Rig Count: U.S. Sees Loss of Three Rigs; Canada Drops by Five
According to Baker Hughes' May 22, 2015 rig count report, the rig count across U.S., Canadian and International markets has continued its downward spiral. However, the rig count decline in the U.S. has slowed considerably in recent weeks.
The U.S. rig count fell by three this week which brings the total year-over-year (YOY) rig count drop to 972. The current active rig count in the U.S. is 885.
Canada reported a loss of five rigs this week. The country's rig count has fallen by 82 rigs YOY with 72 rigs currently active.
On the International front, rig counts decreased by 49. (-147 YOY) to 1,202.
