Eagle Ford Rig Decline: Will It Affect Well Count?

While the Eagle Ford continues to be one of the most popular shale plays in Texas, there has been a decrease in the amount of rigs active in the play.
However, despite a decrease in overall rig count, the average amount of wells drilled per rig has increased quarter over quarter.
In the first quarter of 2012, Eagle Ford drillers averaged 3.7 wells per rig. And while 2013 has seen less rigs in the field than 2012, wells per rig has increased to 4.5 wells per rig.
This continuing trend shows that a decline in rig count will not significantly affect well count. Access more information on the Eagle Ford rig and well counts here.
