P2 Energy Appoints Ousted HP CEO To Board

P2 Energy Solutions has announced (April 22nd) that Léo Apotheker has been appointed to P2’s Board of Directors.

A little about Léo Apotheker

After a little more than 11 months on the job as CEO of HP, Leo was fired and replaced with Meg Whitman.

In his short stint as CEO of HP, Leo (along with the Board of HP) approved a plan for HP to buy Autonomy for $11 billion.  This plan was unveiled on August 18, 2011 and the stock of HP tanked nearly 20% the next day.  In what seems like no more than a month later Leo was fired and replaced with Meg Whitman.

Ray Lane (then executive Chairman of HP) cited they needed renewed leadership as the reason for Leo's firing.  Ray himself step down as chairman last year.
