- Encana currently operating 6 rigs (up +1)
- Gulfport currently operating 2 rigs (up +1)
Eagle Ford / Gulf Coast
Rig count in the Eagle ford play is up +13 from last month. Currently there are 83 rigs operating in the play.
- ConocoPhillips currently operating 9 rigs (up +2 so far this year)
- BPX Energy currently operating 7 rigs (up +1 so far this year)
- Murphy Oil currently operating 3 rigs (up +1)
Permian Basin
The Permian Basin rig count currently sits at 399, up +17 so far this year. Some of the companies increasing rig count include:
- Pioneer currently operating 22 rigs (up +2)
- Cimarex currently operating 7 rigs (up +2)
- BTA Oil currently operating 3 rigs (up +1)
