Shell plans to invest nearly ~$500 million in deepwater Mexico blocks after the country's oil regulator approved the plans, according to a report by Reuters.
The drilling will take place in the Perdido Fold Basin as well as the Salina Basin, which is further south.
Drilling is slated to begin in Q4 2019 and continue through 2022.
