Dallas Fed Survey: E&P Spending to Jump; Focus on Production Growth, Debt Cuts

The Dallas Federal Reserve Bank released the latest version of its annual survey and below are the highlights of the findings.
*Data was collected Dec. 8–16; 131 oil and gas firms responded to the survey
Key Takeaways 75% of all firms interviewed expect to spend more in 2022 vs. 2021 (44% slightly, 31% significantly) Many firms will focus on growing or maintaining production levels Larger firms focused on reducing debt Capital Spending to Grow in 2022The survey suggests that capital spending is set to grow YOY, which is in line with Shale Experts' initial analysis of the released budget data for 2022 (see further below).
