Halliburton Furloughs 3,500 Workers in Houston
Oil and gas services giant Halliburton plans to furlough ~3,500 Houston-based employees in response to the sharp downturn in commodity prices, according to a report by Reuters.
While the affected workers will keep their benefits, they will be on a "one week on, one week off" schedule, receiving payment only for the week they are actively working.
This new schedule will last approximately 60 days. There was no information provided on what Halliburton plans to do once the two-month period is over.
